Addie turns 7
For some reason 7 seems much older than all of the other years that Addie has turned. I know that every year I can't believe that Addie is turning the year that she is, but 7 just seems like a bigger milestone. Addie even said on the night before her birthday: "Mom, when I turn 7 I'm going be be entering the old years. 0-6 are the baby years and when you turn 7, you're old." I think I agree.
Addie planned out her whole birthday party. We had it at Engine and she invited 10 of her school friends. We collected cardboard from Vic's Appliance and constructed a huge castle in the middle of the gallery. Addie had made paper crowns for each of her friends to decorate. The girls spent the party decorating crowns, decorating the castle, playing inside of the castle, fighting and slaying the dragon (Mike-who wore a dragon mask that Addie had made). It was loud and chaotic at times but Addie deemed it the best party ever. It was truly wonderful.
